about me

I am Andrea Daecke-Heilmann, a freelance designer and the founder of the color aficionados. I studied communication design with emphases in illustration, sculpture and animated film at Uni GHS Essen/Folkwang University of the Arts. During my university years I frequently interned as a camera assistant at WDR, Germany's largest TV channel. I am also quite a Frankophile, having studied in Lausanne and worked in Paris at Euro RSCG/Babinet Tong Cuong in the 90ies.

In the mid 90ies I started out at SWR, the largest TV channel in Germany's Southwest. I progressed to a management role in design quickly. However, after over 10 years with a large institution I felt like opening up new professional perspectives for me and started my own business, the color aficionados. I am experienced in assembling project specific teams of creatives with various strengths and have access to a proven global network of design professionals.
